Senior Independence Programs

Supports low-income seniors by helping maintain independence as long as possible.

 

• Transportation to doctor appointments, grocery shopping, errands, etc. for seniors who are no longer able to drive or are home bound due to a debilitating disability.  We offer door-to-door and arm-through-arm service.  Client must be ambulatory and able to self-transfer.

 

• Grocery shopping for seniors who are no longer able to drive or are home bound due to a debilitating disability.

 

• Yard Mowing for seniors who are unable to physically maintain their lawn and/or afford the cost to have their lawn cared for due to a debilitating disability.

 

• Household Repairs for low-income senior homeowners who are unable to afford or obtain needed home repairs necessary to assure their safety and independence.

 

• Emergency Food Pantry for seniors who periodically experience temporary food shortage.

 

• Seasonal Programs

  • (Summer)  fans for seniors who are directly affected by the extreme temperatures in the summer months

  • (Winter)  assures seniors have sufficient blankets and heaters to keep their home safely and adequately heated during the winter months

 

 

 

Senior Enrichment Programs

Enhances the quality of life of seniors, regardless of income, through meaningful interaction and relationships.

 

• Touchline keeps in touch with seniors through daily check-in calls assuring they are safe and that their immediate needs are being met.

 

• Visiting seniors in nursing homes or in their own homes.  Regular visits and interaction helps prevent isolation and provides an advocate and a listening ear.

 

• Remembering You remembers seniors Birthdays and special Holidays throughout the year.

• Referral and Benefits Advocate to connect clients with agencies who specialize in and may help with their particular needs.

• Bless This Food  delivers Thanksgiving meals to seniors who are homebound or alone on Thanksgiving.

 

• Senior Santa brings volunteers of all ages together with seniors to celebrate Christmas by delivering gifts.

 

• Chaplain Services are coordinated by an ordained pastor and are available to seniors seeking any of the following:

  • Spiritual Support

  • Grief Counseling

  • Crisis Counseling

  • Funeral Service Officiating
